A great turn out for on of our longer races of the season and two sprints each lap for the A and B fields to keep things interesting.
In the A field race, Foundation shared the duty among the team early on before focusing their efforts on Adam Alexander and Rafael Meran. Alexander finished in first place with 39 points, but a recreation lane violation by Meran saw him disqualified from the race. Colin Prensky (Dave Jordan Coaching) was consistent through and took second place with 18 points in front of Alejandro Guzman (Foundation) with 16 points.
In the B race, Stefan Singer (Siggi’s/NYVelocity) was a clear winner taking 4 sprint wins including the final sprint and some minor placings to accumulate 31 points. Ron Ferraz (Foundation) placed second ahead of Andrew Mahon (W&D Racing – NYC-Velo) on countback, with both riders on 14 points.
The C field race was a scratch race and Owen Caprell (Sid’s Bikes NYC) won by a comfortable margin the sprint against Glen Hattrick and Michael Britvan (Siggi’s/NYVelocity).
The Women’s clinic was run today and saw a great turn out of eager new women. After some initial coaching and a partially neutral lap, competitive racing ensued and ultimately Jacqueline Parker (Mystic Velo) won the race from Gabrielle Czernick and Maria Rosenfeld (Dave Jordan Coaching).
