The CRCA Central Park Classic was introduced as a new Central Park Open Race in 2012, operating alongside the longstanding CRCA Lou Maltese Memorial and CRCA Mengoni Grand Prix. For 2013 the CRCA Central Park Classic was renamed the CRCA Dave Jordan Central Park Classic in honor of one of the great riders of the New York City cycling scene and a former president of the CRCA: Dave Jordan.
