Miller of Anthem Eltie Team beat Kim Geist. It was good to see that Kim is back and ridng well. She was riding for the Lipton pro team, and considered a potential Olympian, when she was hit by a tractor trailer during a 2007 training ride.

Vailancourt, who rides for the Colavita/Sutter Home pro team edged Roger Aspholm of Westwood Velo in a 2 man break.

Riders liked the new uphill finish. Some said it gave a more honest result and was better suited to a course characterized by challenging hills. Many also thought is safer.

More to come on the races.
