You may have recently read that New York State Bicycle Racing Association (“NYSBRA”) – the Local Association responsible for administering racing in New York State on behalf of USAC – has agreed to implement a state-wide program for anti-doping testing. This program, which is expected to operate similar to a program implemented in Florida, will be administered by USADA.
NYSBRA has committed funds a portion of the funds needed to implement the program, but is seeking co-operation from clubs and others interested in helping promote clean racing in New York. The CRCA Board will vote shortly on a proposal to provide funding to assist NYSBRA with its efforts.
The idea for this program arose from a joint committee formed by CRCA and Kissena who presented the concept to NYSBRA. The support from NYSBRA was unanimous.
NYSBRA is a 501(c)(3) and tax deductible contributions can be made for the purpose of assisting with the funding of this program. Such contributions would be restricted to use for the anti-doping program. If you wish to contribute, please contact Rod Millott (president[at]crca.net) who is also the Treasurer for NYSBRA.
If you have any questions, suggestions or comments on the proposed program or CRCA’s contribution, please contact president[at]crca.net.
