Come celebrate the end of the season by joining club members and friends at The Parlour on 86th St. and Bway. We’ll have our own room with a big screen TV to watch Evelyn Stevens in the Women’s World Championship Road Race, plus plenty of food and drink.

Evelyn’s progress from a Cat 4 to a top Pro rider in 15 months has been very exciting. She is the first CRCA member to compete with a USA National team in the World Championships or the Olympics, while riding for CRCA, since at least the 1920’s, if not before.

After finishing second, eleventh and twelfth in the three stage races she did in Europe, Evie has consistently matched the best in the world. In the mountain stages, she’s always been top 5, so who knows what she can do in the hilly circuits around Mendrisio, Switzerland.

In their race preview cyclingnews.com says, “Wild cards for the road race include Diana Ziliute (Lithuania) who has had a sort of renaissance this year, as well as Italy’s Noemi Cantele, solo breakaway artist Emma Pooley (Great Britain) or perhaps even up and coming American Evelyn Stevens.”(LW)

TV coverage on Universal Sports is from 7-9pm. We hope to hear from Evie and her coach, Matt Koschara before the race.

Please RSVP mgreen36[at]nyc.rr.com to confirm that you can make it.
