CRCA Men’s Cat 3 Series

In 2012 CRCA introduced three new open racing series to the New York City cycling scene – each designed to permit riders to compete across an array of skill sets including circuit races, criteriums and TT’s. For 2013 all three of these series will return.

2014 MEN’S CAT 3 SERIES P/B CRCA

This year the CRCA Men’s Cat 3 Race Series returns for its third year, once again including a full suite of seven different races (the same race calendar as the Elite Men’s and Elite Women’s Race Series). We are still looking for a Series sponsor so if you’re interested please reach out to any member of the CRCA Board of Directors.

2014 SERIES SCORING

• The top 7 finishers at each of the races will be awarded the following points:
  • 1st – 10
  • 2nd – 7
  • 3rd – 5
  • 4th – 4
  • 5th – 3
  • 6th – 2
  • 7th – 1.
• To participate in the series riders must be in the Cat 3 field

2014 SERIES PRIZE POOL

• 1st Place: $250
• 2nd Place: $150
• 3rd Place: $100

• Grant’s Tomb Criterium (M3/4 field)
• Orchard Beach Criterium (M3/4 field)
• Bear Mountain Spring Classic
• Dave Jordan Central Park Classic

The 2013 Men’s Cat 3 Series Presented by TBA will once again bring a significant prize pool to riders competing in CRCA’s various open racing events. The final series schedule is still being developed pending additional race permits but is currently scheduled to include Grant’s Tomb, Orchard Beach, the Dave Jordan Central Park Classic, Lou Maltese Memorial and the Mengoni Grand Prix.

2012 Men’s Cat 3 Series Information

CRCA MEN’S CAT 3 SERIES P/B BY ACCELERADE AND 2nd SURGE

For 2012 CRCA is pleased to have support from Accelerade and 2nd Surge in introducing a new Cat 3 open racing series that will include several of the premier open races in the New York City region with disciplines ranging from TT’s to Hill Climbs to crits and circuit races.  The goal of this new series is to allow the region’s significant population of cat 3 racers to compete in a season long series while earning USAC upgrade points in the process.
