Due to the cancellation of the annual Nancy Morgenstern Memorial Bear Mountain Race on September 10, the CRCA club race in Central Park on September 23 will be held in Nancy’s memory, and the winner of the women’s race will receive the Nancy Morgenstern trophy. This award honors Nancy, who was killed in the World Trade Center on 9/11. Nancy was a dedicated CRCA club member and racer, and very passionate about cycling. She regularly competed in Central Park, where she often trained, but she especially loved the Bear Mountain course. Her parents, Harvey and Suri Morgenstern will be on hand to present the winner of the women’s race with the award.
Women, please come out to this very special club race on Sunday as we celebrate the memory of Nancy Morgenstern. Next year, we’ll be back at Bear Mountain and continue the tradition of this event.
