On Sunday, July 6 there’s a mountain bike race in Manhattan sponsored by our friends at NYCMTB. See below for a message from Jamie Bogner, the race director. If you’re in town and free on Sunday, please go check it out, either as a racer, marshal, or just spectator.

Greetings NYC mountain bikers!

The NYCMTB Highbridge All-City XC race is this Sunday, July 6th. You can pre-register until 9 pm tonight, so save money and get a free t-shirt by pre-registering at the link below:

If racing isn’t your thing, we are in *dire* need of additional course marshals. With racers coming in from around the country for this race, we want to put our best foot forward and provide them with the best experience possible. Course marshals are an important part of that experience. PLEASE come out and help us! We’ve got a sign-up sheet running on the forum here:

But if you’re not a forum person and still want to volunteer, meet at the start/finish (on the corner of Dyckman and Harlem River Drive) at 8 am. All volunteers receive a free race t-shirt as well as lunch.

Beyond that, we’ll be working on the race course (taping off the course and cleaning it up) Saturday, July 5th from 9 am onward. If you’re free, please come and help us whip the course into shape! We’ll start at 9 am at the start/finish and follow the course south to the Highbridge then back to the singletrack and the start/finish. If you show up after 9 am, just follow the course in that direction and you’ll find us!

I hope you all will come out and be a part of NYC’s premier (OK- only) mountain bike race, whether racing, or volunteering to make the race great. See you all this weekend!
