Coaching is paid for by membership fees and highly recommended for all CRCA members, especially those new to racing.
CRCA offers both Race Clinics and Coaching Sessions.
Race Clinics typically take place alongside a race. Race Clinics are a great opportunity to try racing in a safe and controlled setting, and are highly recommended to anyone seeking to explore an interest in bicycle racing. Participation is open to non-CRCA members. A USA Cycling racing license or a one-day is necessary for participation.
Coaching Sessions take place several times a month, and are open only to CRCA members (for whom coaching is free). Our coaching sessions cover a range of skills, and are recommended to racers at all levels of experience. All new CRCA members who are Category 4 or 5 Men, or Category 4 Women must first complete a CRCA New Member Racing Skills session prior to participating in a club race.
Attendees must:
- show a valid USAC license.
- hand in a signed USAC Release form.
- a CRCA Club jersey is required. This is waived until you receive your CRCA kit. Order here: www.crca.net/membership/clothing/
Members who do not have these items will not be allowed to take part in the session.
Members on the suspension list cannot participate in coaching sessions.
Unless otherwise noted, participants are expected to be riding road bikes. Aero bars are not allowed.
Due to the increasing number of users in the park, all coaching sessions are limited to 12 riders, first come first served.
General questions on coaching and rider development should be directed to the VP of Rider Development at riderdevelopment[at]crca.net.
