After a quick mic check and a few remarks on the ride, the season’s second CRCA Club ride on April 29 was off to a start from the New Jersey side of the George Washington Bridge. On a picture perfect day, we rolled up 9W in a double line, at a comfortable, conversational pace. About 40 riders were with us including groups from Sid’s, Westwood, FGX, and a couple of CRCA Juniors. Most of the group came all the way to Nyack, where some continued on or went their own ways. About a dozen of us ended up at the stated objective: Didier Dumas in Nyack for coffee and pastries. “What looks good here besides everything?” asked one rider new to the cafe.
We rode back to the bridge, again at a friendly pace, taking the back way up both Tallman mountain and State Line hill, and then 9W, in the sun, back to the bridge. A good day out.
